Community Support Requested: Foster Grandparents and their children need your help.  Through this program, at-risk children are “adopted” by Foster Grandparents in places such as schools and head start centers.  And it makes a difference. Their students’ attendance improves, grades go up, and behavior problems go down.  The program, however, is in peril.  These low-income seniors serve out of an abundance of love. Necessary expenses of the Foster Grandparents Program, including their mileage and lunch money, have been de-funded by the State due to the budget crisis. Every donated dollar will help them continue to teach their children. They ALL need your support. Click here to make an online donation. Be sure to select "Foster Grandparents" on Program Designation drop-down menu. Or mail a check to "Catholic Charities, P. O. Box 1668, Baton Rouge, LA  70821." Note "Foster Grandparents" on the check memo.
